Modified Nationals... Modified Nationals has built a reputation as being one of the biggest and best shows of the season and a "must attend" for all show goers. It was with some expectation that we made our way to Peterborough Showground. The Modified Nationals doesn't have a fixed location, moving as it does from year to year. This year's location (East of England Showground, Peterborough) was not as good as the Rockingham venue last year. The routes into the showground were confusing and contradicting and when we did finally arrive at the right gate the staff were far from helpful - must do better! The show itself did not have the 'wow' factor of the Modified Nationals of previous years and felt more like the country fair the showground is more commonly used for than the automotive extravaganza it could and should have been. There were not as many traders as there have been in recent years or at similar size shows, although the show was attended by the audio guys - Clarion, Kicker, Fusion and Vibe. There was a good variety of evening entertainment - an aftershow party hosted by Fast Car magazine with garage and drum and bass DJs and MCs between sessions of Fast Car dancers and the Breast of Britain wet t shirt competition. Gods Kitchen hosted the main dance tent with banging hard trance, smoke machines, podium dancers and fire breathers. Then there was the adult tent... I'll refrain from commenting!!! The main factor that dominated the event though was the weather. Saturday was fairly mild but not hot enough to give it that 'summer vibe' and Sunday was a complete wash out with more cars driving out of the show on their way home than visitors driving in. It would have been nice to have more indoor activities to keep the visitors entertained whilst the weather wasn't at its kindest. Due to the weather on Sunday most of the photos in the galleries were taken on Saturday and since the girls were more fun than the cars there are more pictures of them than the cars, so the report is not as balanced as we would like but we don't apologise for it! Remember you can chat about this show in the forum... Thanks to everyone at the showground who we met and bumped in to, posed for pics and let us feature their cars, etc. Show Summary:
