Unfortunately, it was another case of another show and yet more 'British summer'! Mother Nature is certainly not treating the UK car shows nicely this year. As with many shows this season, umbrellas were essential. It was frustrating because the Donny South show has a reputation as being a show which is up there with the best of them as one of the 'must-attend' shows during the UK car show calendar, but even the best of shows struggle to do well with the weather not in their favour.
However, such is Donny South's following that the show went on regardless and the turnout was still very good.
Many of the usual trade stands and exhibitors attended and the Sprint Track and Drifting area were open for business, making a worthwhile show to visit. For all of the people that braved the weather, a fun day should still have been had.
A notable attraction was the presence of the Fuel Girls. This season the Fuel Girls have reduced their UK car show appearences, in favour of European and International shows. As a result any UK car show that manages to book them as an attraction certainly gets the thumbs up from Pimpster!
Donny South 2007 was notably good for modified car clubs and cruise sites, with lots of car club stands around the main show area. This is not the case at Donny South's bigger brother show at Donnington. It was nice to tour around the show in a kind of loop and see everything. The complex layout of the Donnington race circuit means one can miss things.
Overall, the weather dominated and was the main talking point of the crowds, but it was still a good show to visit. Pimpster hopes for a sunny Donny South next year, so the show can return to its full potential!
